About Diana Stinson, PsyD

Gentle, affirming therapy for deep feelers, high achievers, and those navigating anxiety, trauma, relationships, or burnout.

 My Approach

A space that feels safe, affirming, and real.
Where you can be fully human — even on the messy days.

I’ve been providing psychological services since 2014 and became fully licensed as a psychologist in 2022. I bring both experience and a deep respect for the complexity of being human.

My work is grounded in a progressive, affirming lens — honoring your full identity, values, and lived context. Your experiences don’t exist in a vacuum, and neither does your healing.

You don’t have to earn rest, prove your worth, or push through pain to deserve support.
You’re allowed to feel ease — not just once in a while, but every day.

When “Holding it All Together” Becomes Too Much

You’ve always been the responsible one. The one others rely on. You’re smart, capable, thoughtful — and from the outside, it probably looks like you’ve got it all together.

But inside? You’re tired.

Tired of the constant overthinking. The tension in your shoulders that never really goes away. The late nights spent replaying conversations, wondering if you said the wrong thing. The feeling that no matter how much you do — it’s never enough.

You’ve been pushing through for years. And while that push helped you succeed in a lot of ways, now it’s pushing you toward burnout.

It’s not just anxiety. It’s not just perfectionism. It’s a way of moving through the world that no longer feels sustainable — and you’re ready for something different.

You’re allowed to feel ease — not just once in a while, but in your everyday life.

In our work together, we’ll create a space that’s compassionate, thoughtful, and tailored to your real life. We’ll use a blend of mindfulness, values-based work, and cognitive tools to quiet the critical voice inside — and help you reconnect to the grounded, calm part of you that’s been there all along.

In Therapy, We Slow the Spin

I work with high-achievers, deep feelers, and folks who are used to holding it all together — often at the expense of their own needs.

Together, we’ll gently untangle the patterns that are keeping you stuck in survival mode. You’ll learn to slow down just enough to hear what your mind and body have been trying to tell you — without judgment, and without pressure to “get it right.”

We’ll use a blend of:

  • Mindfulness practices that help you reconnect to the present moment and your inner calm

  • Values-based work so your choices reflect your priorities — not other people’s expectations

  • Cognitive tools to help you notice unhelpful thoughts and shift the stories that keep you feeling inadequate or unsafe

You’ll start to understand the roots of your anxiety and perfectionism — and learn to meet yourself with curiosity instead of criticism.

My Tools & Training

I draw from evidence-based approaches to tailor therapy to your unique needs, including:

  • ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)

ACT helps you step out of anxious mental loops, clarify what matters most to you, and take meaningful action — even in the presence of discomfort. You’ll learn how to stop fighting your feelings and start building a more fulfilling, aligned life.

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

If you’ve experienced trauma or painful memories that still feel “stuck,” EMDR can help you process those experiences in a safe, contained way. We’ll go at your pace — using EMDR gently and only when it feels supportive for your system.

I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. We’ll find what works best for you, moment by moment.

How I work:

My approach to therapy is gentle, collaborative, and deeply respectful of your pace.

I don’t believe in pushing you to “go deep” before you’re ready. Healing takes time — and safety. You set the pace. I provide the support, presence, and guidance as we navigate it together.

I believe therapy isn’t about fixing you — because you’re not broken. It’s about helping you notice the patterns you’ve developed (often for good reasons), and creating space for new ways of being that feel more aligned, more honest, and more sustainable.

We might explore:

  • How past experiences — including trauma — shape your current relationships and self-talk

  • How anxiety shows up in your body and daily rhythms

  • Why you feel exhausted even when you're “doing everything right”

  • How to connect to your own needs, boundaries, and voice — without guilt

We won’t dwell in the past unnecessarily, but we will honor where you’ve been, and how it’s shaped the way you move through the world today.

Therapy with me is…

  • We move at your pace. There’s no rush to uncover it all or “figure it out.” Healing happens in layers, and I create a space where you can take a breath, show up as you are, and feel safe doing so.

  • This isn’t about me telling you what to do. You bring your lived experience. I bring tools, insight, and a compassionate presence. Together, we uncover what’s been weighing you down — and what might help you feel lighter.

  • Real change doesn’t always happen in big, dramatic breakthroughs. Sometimes it’s subtle — a quiet moment where you choose self-kindness instead of self-judgment. Over time, those moments build. The old patterns begin to soften. You start to see yourself — and your life — differently.

  • I’ll help you track what’s showing up, what’s changing, and what your body, mind, and emotions are asking for. You’ll start to feel more connected — and less alone.
